"Man is the only animal that blushes. Or needs to."
Mark Twain

The NSW Young Lawyers Animal Law Committee comprises a group of lawyers interested in animal welfare and laws regulating the treatment of animals. Membership of the Committee is voluntary and is open to NSW legal practitioners under the age of 36 years or those in their first 5 years of practice. NSW law students are also welcome to join.

The Committee was established under the auspices of NSW Young Lawyers - a division of the Law Society of New South Wales. Committee members practise in a wide variety of legal areas from commercial firms and sole practices to government departments. What we have in common is our passion for animals and our desire to use our legal skills to improve the lives of animals.
